Background
NMPI presents an opportunity for trans-disciplinary research for improving the use of numerical tools in environmental policy and management domains. Adaptation to climate variability is a special area of interest where the network expects to make a contribution. One of the mandates of the NMPI network is awareness creation. Educating stakeholders that use numerical modelling products for environmental prediction is a fundamental part of NMPI's awareness creation strategy. Drawing attention to pitfalls associated to non-recognition of the interface is a first step in the quest to improve the uptake of numerical models in decision-making spheres such policy formulation and management strategy development.
